((I was trying to draw HW&HD Fluffmoon, I really was. I even looked up uniforms and everything.

Yet, somehow, I ended up with a tiny drawing of ickle baby Artemis instead, and the idea for Fluffmoon has vanished as though it had never been.

Because little!Artemis is Just That Cute.))

Laramie: *shakes his head mutely - it wasn't any of that-!* *gestures inarticulately, his fingers curling in front of his mouth*

Felix: *looks from one to the other* ...are you sure it wasn't your sterling humility?

Briar: *comes close to flailing at him* No it was not! *drops flat on his front in the grass, peeking in at Laramie. Hand in front of mouth, what- oh!* ...Oh. It's all right, violet, I'm not poisonous... *reassuring, faint smile*

Laramie: N- nnh- *closes eyes and retreats again - he doesn't want - that, does he?*

Felix: *bends to peer at them both* What is it, Rosa?

Briar: *is Perplexed again* Well, if it's not that, then I haven't the faintest idea. *it doesn't even occur to him that Laramie could be fretting over the kiss itself - what is there to worry about, after all? A kiss is a kiss is a kiss...*

Laramie: *is starting to get his voice back* Hhh- wh- what- why-

Felix: *eyes sharpen* My lord, by chance did you kiss him?

Briar: *nonplussed* Yes, why? *is this going somewhere important? Because it's really not the right time if Felix is being kinky...*

Felix: *groans and runs a hand through his hair* I apologize, I should have thought to tell you - humans aren't nearly so free with affection as we are.

Laramie: *closes his eyes, miserable and humiliated* Nnnn...

Briar: *raises an eyebrow* Why in Earth not? *surprised*

*looks back under the bush* *coaxingly, soothing* It's all right, violet, you can come out...

Felix: *shakes his head* I haven't the faintest idea. I only know that kisses mean things, for humans, the kinds of things you don't give away lightly. *shrugs* It seems awfully lonely to me, but I'm not a human.

Laramie: *pries one eye open and squints skeptically at Briar* ...

Briar: *frustrated* Well, I can't think why. *holds his hand out to Laramie, like one would to a wounded animal* I promise, it's all right. *encouraging smile* I already promised that I wasn't poisonous.

Laramie: *hesitant little movement* *soft, breathy little whimper* m'sorry... *one hand makes its way nervously to Briar's, fingertips just shy of touching...*

Briar: Don't be. *firmly* *holds his hand steady, yanking back the urge to take Laramie's hands again and comfort him, since that seems to be what caused the problem in the first place* It's all right, I swear it. I won't hurt you.

Laramie: *wide, wide blue eyes* *his hand slips around Briar's and holds, soft and just a little overwarm...*

Briar: *squeezes ever so carefully - just a little, just enough to let him know Briar's there* That's it... Come on, tigerlily, out you come. *gentle, coaxing smile*

Laramie: *slowly creeps out, absently clinging to Briar's hand, until his red head pokes out into the sunshine* *squints and blinks*

Briar: *edges back as Laramie emerges, giving him room, then sits back on his heels and smiles at him* Much better. *squeezes his hand again*

Laramie: *small, flickering smile, much too fragile to survive for long* *seems to realize dimly that a fae lord is holding his hand; ducks his head against a sudden onset of the Blushings, but doesn't let go*

Briar: *long fingers wrapped securely around his hand, slender thumb rubs his knuckles reassuringly* There you are... *smiles again, still so gentle and coaxing. Don't be scared...*

Laramie: *isn't anymore, really, just - confused. Confused and overwhelmed by Briar's attentions, with no idea of what to do about them...* *settles for another little smile*

Briar: *don't need to do anything, not if this is still all new. Don't worry about it. It's just how we do things, you'll see.*

Much better. We can see you now... *smiles back at him warmly*

Laramie: *feels like he ought to do something. Give back somehow, when he's been given so much...* I... thank you...

Briar: *waves it aside, then turns the gesture to holding Laramie's other hand comfortingly. Well, if kissing's out...* Nothing, violet. Don't worry. *smile*

Laramie: *more of a mumble than a protest* Not nothing to me... *very, very softly lays his other hand on Briar's*

Briar: *smile brightens, holding Laramie's hands as gently as he would his newest rose petals* Then I'll be sure to keep doing the same.

Laramie: *looks at him for real then, a smile lighting his face*

Moogle: *melts all over the place*
