((I was trying to draw HW&HD Fluffmoon, I really was. I even looked up uniforms and everything.

Yet, somehow, I ended up with a tiny drawing of ickle baby Artemis instead, and the idea for Fluffmoon has vanished as though it had never been.

Because little!Artemis is Just That Cute.))

*backs off a bit, looking at him curiously* You okay, lil'un?

lilArtemis: *bites his lip, shifting uncertainly and head down* *slightly muffled* Y're th'nice moogle-lady, right..? *fidgets a bit*

*aww...* *pets his hair* I try to be, love...

lilArtemis: *head still down, is quiet for a moment* Ma said... *swallows* Ma said Da wasn't - wasn't my Da. *looks up at you then, blank confusion in his face* How can Da not be my Da? *struggling to keep the tears out of his voice*

*ohhh, hells...* *cuddles him close* Well, your Da does things with you, right? Takes you places and plays with you?

lilArtemis: Uh-huh... *swallows hard again; his throat keeps on hurting and his eyes sting* S-so how can he not be my Da? *big, imploring, tear-bright eyes*

*strokes his cheek* To my way of thinking, anyone who treats you like that is your Da. He's your Da 'cause he loves you and acts like your Da; nothing else really matters. Y'see? *smiles*

lilArtemis: *hiccups and sniffles again, lip wobbling despite his staunch efforts to stay straight-faced* Bu'- Bu' Ma said...

I think what your ma means is that your Da wasn't the one who got her pregnant with you. Which might be true, but it's hardly all that important, is it? ;)

lilArtemis: *can't quite hold back a sniffle* Bu' - bu' dun' tha' mean he won' wanna play wi'me anymore if she tells Da tha'? *scared, pleading look up at you*

.....*snuggles him close* Not at all, sweetheart. Your Da loves you. That's a bigger and better thing than anything else in the world. *and ArtemisDa, you better not make a liar out of me or else...!*

lilArtemis: *clings close and snuggles back, letting a few hot tears escape. He'd been worrying at that and getting more and more worried since Ma'd said it...*

*murmurs and snuggles close, stroking his hair. Safe now, little one...*

lilArtemis: *strangled little noise in the back of his throat, eyes shut tight* *clings..!*

lilArtemis: *hhh* *hhh* *clings-!* *squeezes his eyes shut and tries not to make any noise*

*rubs his back comfortingly* S'okay, sweetie, go ahead and let it out, I'm here and I won't let anything hurt you...

lilArtemis: *to his dismay a sobbing wail escapes as tears soak into your shoulder; can't stop his breathing getting more erratic and his shoulders shaking...*

*hums and holds him close, safe and warm and cling-able* That's right, little one, go ahead and cry, you're safe now...

lilArtemis: *sobbing gasp for breath, skinny chest heaving as wracking sobs shake him, wan' my Da-!*
