((I was trying to draw HW&HD Fluffmoon, I really was. I even looked up uniforms and everything.

Yet, somehow, I ended up with a tiny drawing of ickle baby Artemis instead, and the idea for Fluffmoon has vanished as though it had never been.

Because little!Artemis is Just That Cute.))

lilArtemis: *hugs him without needing to think about it, beaming and snuggling for sheer happy-Artemis'-sake*

lilHelios: *...so that's what a hug is. It's... nice.* *keeps an arm around him as he trots along to the nearest coin-op newspaper stand* Look, there's the General on the front page. *points*

lilArtemis: *clings tight to Helios as he squeaks, eyes lighting up and bouncing on the spot* What's it say, what's it say? *excited!*

lilHelios: *spreads it out on the ground* It says... *squints at it* "Yesterday, General Sephiroth brought a decisive end to ShinRa's latest military campaign, breaking the back of Wutai's main force..."

lilArtemis: *...and Artemis whoops and dances him around, hugging Helios tight. Yay, the General won!*

lilHelios: *eeks and hugs him back tentatively* Y'think this means all the soldiers will come home soon? *'cause that would mean a boost in business*

lilArtemis: *nods so fast his hair flies everywhere* Uh-huh! An' my Da's gon' come home! *glomps Helios again, unable to help himself, glowing with pure joy*

lilHelios: *can't help but beam and hug him back* Good...

lilArtemis: *hugs him tight, then bounces up again as he gets an idea* ...I wanna know how t'read f'r when my Da comes home. *bright-eyed and serious, gives Helios a hopeful-pleading look* Teach me? Please? *pretty please with sugar on top?*

lilHelios: *...like he could say no to that!* ...'Kay. *sits down and points at the headline* That says General. It starts with a G - G for General, see?

lilArtemis: *scrambles down on hands and knees and looks over Helios' shoulder, concentrating intently* G for Gen'ral...'kay. *is going to learn this, is going to!*

lilHelios: *leans against him and takes him patiently letter by letter, saying the sounds so he can hear*

lilArtemis: *it's hard, just as hard as Artemis remembered from the last time he tried to learn, but Helios is a good teacher - he might not be able to find 'General' elsewhere in the article without help right now, but he's not too disheartened at his progress...yet*

lilHelios: *takes it slow, and praises him lots - he's just as clever as Helios, he just needs time*

lilArtemis: *will never be convinced that Helios isn't the cleverer of the two, the saem way that he won't ever lose his faith in the General, but he does need time to manage this - it had never gone well whe he'd tried to learn before.*

lilHelios: *has plenty of time, and plenty of patience to spare in anticipation of that golden moment when Artemis sounds out a word on his own*

lilArtemis: *he tries, he really does, but he doesn't get that far the first day. Though as it gets nearer to the time when he has to go home, he starts to look wistful. Helios'll probably go home and he won't see him again now...*

lilHelios: *should really go home soon, or the laundry won't get done and then he'll be in for it* *bites his lip and offers Artemis the newspaper* So you can practice...

lilArtemis: *a present? :D!* *face lights up* Thanks! *...then the wistful look creeps back in, just noticeable* Wanna try again sometime? *like he's not really expecting to, what with Ma and the kids and Helios probably not going to be around, but...*

lilHelios: *nods, without really having to think about it* When I can get away from work, we can practice more... *granted, getting away from work doesn't happen often, but Helios is a kid still - therefore, hope springs eternal.*

lilArtemis: *smiles happily at him - it probably won't happen, but it was nice of Helios to say so* An' when I leave off wi' th'kids...meet me here? *safer than the church...*

lilHelios: *nods* I'll wait for you. *brief smile - why is his enthusiasm so infectious?*

lilArtemis: *melts, just a little bit* I'unno when I'll make i' next, but 'll try. *and he means it, whole-heartedly*
